What's Up Here?

It's all about your and my dreams. How they work, what's their relationship with life and Reality.

Of course, I take this all apart with various metaphysical ideas that show up.  As well, you'll see the Joseph Campbell myth structure used - which seems to be a basic line of thought for humankind. People tend to compare their own stories with others in order to give them some idea of what to do with their own.

Now I'm having a great deal of fun in writing this, as I really don't know what is going to happen next. I have some vague ideas, but until I write them, they don't really exist. And fleshing them out brings them to life.

The main point is that I'm using a new line of approach to writing. Fiction, yes, but it's also letting the writing come as an inspired flow. And it's somewhat like a spigot - just inviting it to come in, instead of actually exerting effort to make it happen.

And it comes in as a flood.

For instance, I have some elements which I need to write out shortly. The hero meets a helper, who may or may not turn out to be a changeling. He's already met a trickster, but doesn't know it yet. And on top of this, there is also a show-down with him and his keepers - who don't know that he's already figured out what they are doing. But those keepers are gradually finding their life much more difficult to keep up - and so he becomes their mentor, as they are given the Call to Adventure.

But of course, this page won't matter shortly as far as plot, since I'm giving away stuff I'm about to write over the next few days.

The point here is that once you've cracked the writer-code, you can simply allow this to show up in your life anytime you want. And for as long as you want.

Right now, I'm having a hard time getting back to the mundane freelance I do in web design. Simply because I don't really want to shift gears.

But that is the great part about writing - you simply have to love what you do and make your life revolve around it.

Don't worry - this is my last fiction book. (Like I earlier wrote my last self-help book.) From here - it's all cartooning. And I'm looking to clean out my room of anything which doesn't have to do with cartooning or cattle. Because I'm narrowing this down to just those two points.

Of course, I'll need to do some web design to pay the bills this winter, but look for collections of cartoons to keep me rolling in the spring. I've got another blog in the wings to let you know  everything about it...

Cheers!
